Why Choose Men's Health Care?

Men's Health Care is a medical practice dedicated to treating men of the age of 18 and older. While we provide treatment for men, our emphasis is placed on preventative care to maintain our patients' good health. There are many medical practices out there, so why should you choose to be served by Men's Health Care?

  • You Want Health Care of the Highest Quality:
    • A. A. Emami, D.O., M.D., F.H.U., F.A.C.O.I. is a Doctor who is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. His "whole person" approach guides his healthy patients away from illness while steering back to health his patients who are ill. He has an extensive background in diet, exercise and lifestyle counseling which serve as the main pillars of health.
  • You're a Man of the Age of 18 or Older:
    • This is the first practice of which we are aware that exclusively focuses on men's health.
  • You Don't Have Health/Medical Insurance:
    • Health insurance is still expensive. For many people (even after subsidies) it remains unaffordable. Men's Health Care bridges this gap in care by cutting out unnecessary costs and by passing the savings onto patients. Quality health care does not need to be expensive. Studies have demonstrated, time and again, more money spent on health care does not equate to better health for patients.
  • You Do Have Health/Medical Insurance:
    • Even with health/medical insurance, medical care can be expensive. Between high copays and deductibles, it sometimes seems as though the health/medical insurance companies are attempting to continue collecting money while obstructing people from obtaining the care they need. For 2016 alone, the rise in cost for health/medical insurance is expected to be between 15 percent and 20 percent.
  • You May Have Missed Open Enrollment for Health/Medical Insurance:
    • Health/medical insurance companies are strict about the times of the year you may enroll in their plans. If you missed open enrollment, we can provide care until a time in which you may decide to enroll.
  • You Can't Wait for Your Next Appointment:
    • With a national shortage of Doctors and because Doctors can see fewer patients per day because of electronic-medical record (E.M.R.) systems, the wait to see Doctors is longer than ever before. Because of the efficiency of care which is delivered at Men's Health Care, we are able to provide care of the highest quality while respecting your time.
  • You Don't Want to See a Mid-level:
    • If you go shopping for a Cadillac, and if you pay for the price of a Cadillac, you expect to receive a Cadillac. Receiving anything less would be false advertising. To the same effect, when you schedule an appointment with a Doctor, you expect to see a Doctor, anything less is false advertising as well. When you schedule an appointment at Men's Health Care, you will see a Doctor who is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. You will not see someone who is not a Doctor but claims to have advanced training. Physician's assistants and nurse practitioners do not work at Men's Health Care because when you make an appointment to see the Doctor, you will see a Doctor.

It is worthwhile to note, that many "quick clinics" are generally staffed by "certified" mid-levels (nurse practitioners and physician assistants). A mid-level of any certification is not a Doctor. At Men's Health Care all of your medical issues are addressed by A. A. Emami, D.O., M.D., F.H.U., F.A.C.O.I. who has completed medical school, residency training and is board certified. The affordable pricing plans at Men's Health Care are comparable if not less expensive than many of the "fast-food clinics" of health care.
  • You Want to Cure A Disease, Not Place a Bandage on It:
    • While Men's Health Care cannot guarantee the curing of any disease, we can guarantee to do our best to get to the heart of your illness while exploring ways to minimize (if not eliminate) the medications you may require.
  • You Want to Save Money:
    • Newer medications do not always equate to better medications. Furthermore, Men's Health Care always evaluates the least expensive way to treat any medical illnesses a patient may have. Between the careful selection of medications (when indicated) and the careful selection of tests (when indicated) Men's Health Care always understands the value of your wallet after the value of your health.

One example of careful selection of medications is the decision to choose a cholesterol lowering medication for a patient with high cholesterol. Simcor is a medication that can be prescribed to patients with high cholesterol. This medication is a combination of two medications: Niacin and Simvastatin. A 30-day supply of Simcor (at its highest available dose of 1000mg/40mg) costs $313.99. As of 2016, when prescribed/purchased individually Niacin can be purchased over the counter for $6.66 for a 30-day supply and Simvastatin can be purchased for $5.10 for a 30-day supply. In other words, taking the combination pill (Simcor) costs $302.23 more per month than taking its components (Niacin and Simvastatin) individually. Over the course of a year, this can be a difference of $3,626.76! Simcor is a registered trademark of AbbVie Inc.
